How harmful is printer ink to household pets, especially dogs?

My brothers year old lab-terrier mix (honestly, pit-bull, but he’s a sweetheart) ate an ink cartridge the other night. He just chewed it up and apparently pooped out some ink. It’s been a day, he seems ok but he’s not really eating. Any advice?
Vet is 2 hour car ride away, we are not neglecting him, just looking for some advice. If you have any real info on the subject, I’d really appreciate it. Either personal info or helpful websites.
